The candidate from the "Aliance for the Improvement of Veracruz," Héctor Yunes Landa, from the ruling, Revolutionary Institutional Party, claimed his victory in the elections for state governor. But his main rival, his cousin Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares, did the same thing.
And just to complicate things, the candidate of the National Renovation Movement (Morena), Cuitláhuac García, said that he was the winner, with an advantage of three points.
Héctor Yunes said that polls give him an advantage of four to eight points, but he will wait for the official results.
“These tendencies are irreversible and will be confirmed in due time by the fast checking from the election authorities," due at 11:00 p.m.
Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares said on the other hand that the first results give the alliance between the National Action Party and the Democratic Revolution Party the advantage.
