Mexican actress Salma Hayek told a humorous story about how she managed to keep a stray dog she met in Bulgaria, even after her husband had forbidden any more animals at home.
During the taping of the Graham Norton Show, Hayek said that in order to keep "Ochoa," named after Guillermo Ochoa, goalie of the Mexican national soccer team, she decided to invent a cover story to tell her husband, François-Henri Pinault.
The thing is, she was planning to lead him into believing that she had been unfaithful, in order to have him so relieved when it turned not to be that case, that he would allow her to keep the dog.
By the way, they already have like 10 dogs, five parrots, and alpacas, horses and cats. No wonder he didn't want more quadrupeds at home.
She told Graham Norton: “So I came up with the brilliant idea of pretending I was having an affair so when he found out about the dog and that I wasn't having an affair he would feel better.”
But he pre-empted her plan as soon as she called him, asking her if she got another dog. “It was so sad that I was so predictable,” she said.
Looking stunning in a butterfly-patterned black dress, Hayek surprised Norton and fellow guests Kelsey Grammer, Tamsin Greig, Rhod Gilbert and Alicia Keys, with her sense of humor and sympathy.
