The coach of Mexico's national soccer team will keep his post despite the squad's humiliating 7-0 drubbing at the hands of Chile last week in the Copa America quarterfinals.
Mexican soccer federation secretary-general Guillermo Cantú said Thursday that he still trusts the coach, Juan Carlos Osorio of Colombia, but also said errors will have to be addressed.
Cantu says Saturday's defeat was "a hard blow and a great sadness" for fans and will lead the team "to recognize and correct errors."
Osorio took over the national team in October. He has been criticized for frequent changes in player line-ups, something Cantu said will be reviewed.
Mexico's national team has had six coaches since 2013.
