Police responding to reports of shots being fired and an armed subject possibly holding hostages at a Walmart on Tuesday entered the store in the Texas panhandle, police reported.
The incident is believed to be workplace-related and there are still no indications that anyone has been shot, the police said
"There are NO confirmed gunshot victims inside the Walmart. Officers are inside. No shooting on-going at this moment," the Randall County Sheriff's Office said on its Facebook page.
Amarillo police did not offer any further details on the suspect.
Traffic in the vicinity has been halted and the Walmart has been shut down, the Randall County Sheriff's Office said, urging people to stay away from the area.
"There are reports the subject inside may have hostages," it said in a previous Facebook post.
