The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis reported at 8:00 p-m. Tuesday that the Phase I pollution contingency in the Valley of Mexico will continue until tomorrow morning, with a new report expected by 10:00 a.m.
The high-pressure system which represented adverse conditions for the dispersion of pollutants in the central region of the country will continue to exert its influence in the area and the meteorological models indicate that the atmosphere will be stable tomorrow, with a weak wind and lack of clouds until the early afternoon.
It is expected that some two million vehicles will be forbidden from being use in the Valley of Mexico.
Also, the cement, pharma, chemical, oil and electric generation industries in the area will also have to reduce their polluting emissions in between 30 and 40%.
