Metropolitan bus kills jaywalker in Mexico City

A 25-year-old man was run over by a bus from the metropolitan Metrobus system of Mexico City, over main Insurgentes avenue in the nearby area of the pyramidal La Raza monument.

According to the authorities, around 3:35 p.m., the man identified only as 25-year-old tried to cross the avenue, where the Metrobus runs on a special lane on the left side of the street. Also, there are no pedestrian bridges in the area.

The 43-year-old driver, Marco Antonio, was unable to stop and ended up running over the jaywalker.

The body was left over the left lane of the road until the area was cordoned and a special ambulance unit arrived to pick up the remains.
