New emissions control program to be implemented in Mexico City

Rafael Pacchiano, Minister of the Environment, said that a new emissions control program will be implemented in Mexico City on July 1, starting with the oldest vehicles.

In a radio interview with Óscar Mario Beteta, Pacchiano said that 1.7 million cars that obtained the 0 or double zero hologram illegally are expected to stop circulating.

The program will use new technology, he added.
