The Zika virus has affected 48 women in the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas and Veracruz, areas with a big concentration of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.
According to the last epidemiology report from the Ministry of Health, dated April 4, there are 201 cases of Zika in the country, with 48 pregnant women among them.
In the previous report, dated March 28, there were 183 cases, with a total of 42 pregnant women.
Out of 11 states with a reported presence of the virus, Chiapas has the greatest number of cases with 102, followed by Oaxaca with 79. There are also seven reported in Guerrero, four in Nuevo León, and two in Jalisco and Veracruz.
Also, Michoacán, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Tabasco and Yucatán have one reported case each.
Out of the 48 women with Zika, 33 were reported in Chiapas, 13 in Oaxaca and two in Veracruz.
