A woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for kidnapping her 4-year-old daughter and fleeing to Mexico for 12 years after the girl's father was awarded custody.
Dara Llorens was sentenced Wednesday in state district court in Austin, having pleaded guilty to felony charges arising from the abduction of Sabrina Allen, whose case was twice profiled on the television show "America's Most Wanted." Llorens must serve two years before becoming eligible for parole.
Acting on a tip, the FBI and Mexican authorities found Llorens and Allen, then 17, near Mexico City on Sept. 30, 2014. The pair was flown back to Texas and Llorens was jailed on kidnapping charges.
Allen was reported missing by her father in 2002 after she vanished following a weekend visit with her mother.
