The body of journalist Anabel Flores was identified by her relatives this morning, after she was found abandoned on a road in the state of Puebla.
Flores was kidnapped by a commando in her state of Veracruz, on the Mexican eastern coast.
The Office of the Attorney General of Veracruz is expected to release more information on the case in the coming hours.
The body was located this morning in the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca Tehuacán road.
It was reported that Anabel Flores worked for two newspapers in Veracruz, but they denied having a relationship with her, other than being a freelancer.
El Buen Tono newspaper published an editorial claiming that Flores was fired some time ago and pointed out that she possessed a car which does not correspond to her income. It also added that possible links between the journalist and organized crime are being investigated.
In the meantime, El Sol reported that Flores was just a freelance collaborator and had been working with them for less than a year.
