An officer from the Department of Public Security of Mexico City died and another one was wounded in a shootout with agents from the Office of the Attorney General of the metropolis (PGJDF) in a medical establishment in the district of Gustavo A. Madero.
According to the PGJDF, two agents arrived at the premises in the Salvador Díaz Mirón neighborhood to investigate an extortion attempt against a doctor, who denounced the crime before the Anti-Kidnapping Attorney last February 8.
During the meeting between the agents and the doctor a child screamed that armed men in uniforms were outside the office.
According to the agents, they came out and identified themselves, but the police officers began to shoot and they had to repeal the attack.
An officer identified as Abel Eduardo died in the place while another one identified as Felipe Rodrigo was wounded in the back.
The doctor confirmed the version by the PGJDF agents about the incident.
