The Virgin calls us to be her ambassadors: Francis

Pope Francis stressed that the Virgin of Guadalupe, as she did with indigenous saint Juan Diego hundreds of years ago, is calling everybody to become ambassadors "to build many new sanctuaries, accompany travelers and comfort many tears."

"Walk on the paths of your neighborhood in your community, in your parish as my ambassador. Raises sanctuaries sharing the joy of knowing that we are not alone, that she walks with us. Become my ambassador, she tells us, by giving food to the hungry, something to drink to the thirsty, aiding the needy, dressing the naked and visiting the sick.

"Assist the prisoner, forgive those who have hurt you, console those who are sad. Please be patient with others, and particularly, pray and appeal to our God".

The Pope is conducting mass in front of some 30,000 faithful, among them former President Felipe Calderon and his wife Margarita Zavala, and the head of the metropolitan district of Miguel Hidalgo, Xóchitl Gálvez.
