The governments of Mexico and Egypt will compensate the families of the victims accidentally attacked by Egyptian security forces in the country’s western desert last September.
Mexico's Foreign Minister, Claudia Ruiz Massieu, said two lines of inquiry have been followed separately and regardless of the results, the families will be compensated.
One of them involves the local administrative officials and the travel agency for the lack of clarity on the travel permit, according to the Egypt's Ministry of Tourism.
The other one is the participation of the Egyptian Army in the attack; Egypt's Military Prosecutor is conducting the investigation.
"We are here to provide psychological, medical, and legal support for the victims, following the development and outcome of the investigation." Ruiz Massieu said.
