Organized crime groups operating in the area of the Ajusco volcano, in Tlalpan, Mexico City, threatened to kill Fernando de Anda, Intelligence Director of Mexico City's Attorney General Office (PGJDF).
He explained that after last Friday organized crime mentioned Mexico City mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera in a threatening banner, he received several death threats by telephone from the gang La Nueva Sombra.
De Anda said that the people who threatened him claimed to belong to a gang called La Gente Nueva, linked to the kidnapping gang La Mano con Ojos, that according to de Anda also operates in the Reclusorio Preventivo Oriente jail. He added that La Gente Nueva also threatened to take control of the area.
De Anda recalled that years ago he arrested the leader of La Mano con Ojos Marco Antonio Hernández García, former police commander of Huixquilucan, State of Mexico.
"He confessed to 12 murders, but in total we associate him with 40 murders in Mexico City and 300 in the State of Mexico," de Anda added.
The banner hung last Friday in the area of Tlalpan mentioned the name of de Anda and accused him of protecting criminals. De Anda said that the accusations only seek to harm his image after 27 years of service.
