In less than a week, two more clandestine graves were found by neighbors in the community of Carrizalillo, in two points of a dirt road a mile away from that town.
There could be up to 60 bodies in the areas, according to denouncements at the local police station.
On Saturday, the residents of Carrizalillo, a community that leases its land to Canadian Gold Corp mining company, found a clandestine grave with two human jaws and bones, as well as other parts, which were delivered to the authorities.
In other three mass graves they found the remains of two people, mostly bones and hair.
Nelson Figueroa, sheriff of Carrizalillo, guided the press to the places where the people found two new holes with human remains in the areas of El Puerto and El Pedregal, thanks to the confession of a man identified as Modesto Peña Celso, alleged whistleblower for the Guerreros Unidos cartel.
Peña Celso reported other mass graves in the areas of El Zapote and Los Maguitos, which have not been located.
Peña Celso was detained for more than 15 hours on October 28, along nine federal police officers. According to the Figueroa and the locals, he was trying to help the officers in the arrest and incrimination of commissioner Ricardo López.
The National Human Rights Commission had to intervene in order to have Peña Celso delivered to Mexican marines, who took them to the local representation of the Office of the Attorney General to be interrogated.
"We believe that we are going to find more than 60 people in the two mass graves. The person that came with the feds (Modesto) confessed, afraid to be hurt by us, that there are several points where they (Guerreros Unidos) leave their victims, but so far we have not found more than three mass graves," expressed Nelson Figueroa.
