Two men were killed and a woman wounded when protesters gathered before a federal prison in Chilpancingo, Guerrero, were fired upon by unknown parties even while local police was watching the protest.
The incident occurred around 15:00 hours, after relatives of 22 prisoners protested against the decision of the head of the Social Readaptation Center, Javier Castrejón Rosales, to move them to other jails in the state, without any notice to their families.
The two men, dressed in jeans, were killed in the vehicle entrance to the prison.
According to witnesses, two men came on a white pick-up truck and fired upon the victims, and then just walked away from the area, towards the truck that was waiting for them some distance away.
