The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) extradited presumed drug traffickers Pedro Alejandro Pérez Rubio and Cesar Gastelum Serrano to the United States.
According to reports, they were transferred from different federal prisons to the airport of Toluca, where they were delivered to the U.S. authorities.
Through a statement, the PGR reported that their extradition was carried out by means of a coordinated operation between the Legal and International Affairs office of the PGR, the Agency of Criminal Investigation (AIC) and Interpol Mexico.
The two men were required by various Federal District Courts of the U.S. for conspiracy and drug-related crimes.
Forty-nine-year-old Pedro Alejandro Rubio was arrested in November 2013, while Gastelum Serrano was detained last April, both for organized crime and drug trafficking.
