Bayer Leverkusen drew 1-1 with visiting Augsburg, which took the lead in the 12th when goalkeeper Bernd Leno misjudged a simple back pass, kicked air and let the ball roll into the net.
"These are the moments that you wish the ground would swallow you up because you know that as a goalkeeper you get the short straw," said Leno, who was given his first call-up for Germany on Friday.
Karim Bellarabi equalized on a rebound in the 39th after Mexican Javier Hernández' initial effort hit the post.
Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu missed the chance to win it from the penalty spot when he fired over in the 71st.
