The Department of Public Security of Veracruz reported tonight that federal forces arrested Ciro González Pérez, known as "El Puchini" or "Z-37" and considered the regional head of Los Zetas in San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato and north of Veracruz.
According to a report, González Pérez was captured in an operation in the city of Pachuca, Hidalgo capital.
He is considered the main force behind the wave of violence in Veracruz, mainly in the region of Poza Rica, where he had various clashes with antagonist groups and local and federal authorities, leaving dozens of deaths.
The detainee used to be a member of the elite corps of the army and is viewed as part of the second generation of founders of Los Zetas.
