The official position on Ayotzinapa is not unchangeable: PGR

"A hypothesis depends on evidence or corroborative evidence.  When it comes to an open investigation there are no entrenched positions, just those that are developed in the course of the investigation itself," expressed Attorney General Arely Gómez González about the investigation of the Ayotzinapa case.

Before the Justice Commission of the Chamber of Representatives, Gómez González expressed that the Assistant Attorney General for Human Rights, Eber Betanzos, has been left in charge of the investigation.

Gómez González expressed that a team of experts in criminal investigations and human rights will be responsible for the investigation on its second phase.

The dossier includes the considerations from the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI) the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).

The Attorney General also pointed out at the agreement between the GIEI and the Mexican authorities during the meeting of the IACHR on October 20.

"The most important aspect of this agreement is the relaunch of the search for the missing teachers in training through a strategy based on the use of technology and science. At the same time, we will work in the comprehensive care to the victims, including accompanying them in their search for justice," she said.

Gómez González expressed that the PGR will exhaust all the lines of research in order to be certain about the student's destiny.

"This will mean the firm commitment that all those responsible, without any doubt, will be presented before the competent authority. We will continue to work, in this and other matters with accountability and transparency," she added.
