Agents of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), assigned to Interpol Mexico, captured Arturo Díaz Díaz, financial operator of the Sinaloa Cartel, headed by fugitive Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.
Arturo Díaz was arrested for extradition purposes as he was indicted by the Federal District Court of Arizona for his links with the Sinaloa Cartel.
According to the investigations, he was allegedly in charge of keeping records of the drugs that entered illegally to the United States, paying transportation fees, tracking the profits, and paying other partners for smuggling activities.
Intelligence work today said that Díaz is considered a high-ranking member within the criminal organization.
Arturo Díaz was arrested on October 20 in Mexico City and sent to the Federal Social Rehabilitation Center No.13 in Oaxaca, awaiting extradition.
