"I am the most interested in solving Ayotzinapa's case": EPN

President Enrique Peña Nieto ordered the Foreign Ministry to extend the mandate of the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to conclude their work in Mexico.

He added that he is willing to meet again with the parents of the 43 missing students of Ayotzinapa teachers training college that were last seen in Iguala in September last year .

President Peña Nieto said that if there are some differences with the investigations conducted by the Attorney General's Office (PGR), these can be solved with new tests, particularly in Cocula, by groups of high-level forensic experts that will "allow us to have greater certainty about what happened."

He emphasized that the report of the Expert Group confirmed the involvement and alleged responsibility of the municipal police of Cocula and Iguala and organized crime, and added that 110 people have been arrested as part of the investigations conducted by the PGR.

The President said that the government has been in close contact with the parents of the victims and explained that the search for the students continues and that the judiciary will determine when the investigation will be concluded.
