The National Coordination of Civil Protection reported that it has installed several monitoring points in response to the closeness of hurricane "Marty" with the states of Guerrero, Michoacán, and Colima.
The agency also indicated that the weather phenomenon, which became a category one hurricane in the evening, will continue causing rains until Thursday or Friday.
At a press conference to report on the path of "Marty," the head of Civil Protection, Ricardo de la Cruz, commented that due to the erratic trajectory of the phenomenon it has been impossible to determine its path.
However, even if it doesn't touch land, the hurricane will certainly cause "important rains."
"The prognosis of trajectory has been erratic so we don't have a particular area of potential impact. However, even when there is no impact on our country, just by passing by it's going to leave significant rains," explained De la Cruz.
