Peso slumps to almost one-month low

Mexico's peso slumped sharply on Wednesday to its weakest in nearly a month.

The peso shed 1.1 percent to 17.07 per dollar, its weakest since August 28.

Mexico's central bank (Banxico) sold US$400 million in an auction today to support the peso. This is the third time that Banxico auctions dollars this week.
