Different sectors in southern Tamaulipas condemned the murder of Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández and his son Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde, kidnapped in Tampico and found dead in Pueblo Viejo, Veracruz.
The victims were found last Sunday after they were reported missing by their relatives on September 4. They are the father and brother of filmmaker Alejandro Gómez, director of "Little Boy".
Social activist Manuel Angel Segura expressed that this kind of violence confirms the deep wounds in the state of Tampico.
"Tampico is wounded by insecurity, wounded because those who create jobs in the area are being mobbed by organized crime. I am very touched by the fact that organized crime is tearing apart families in Tampico," he said.
The president of the Business Council of Madero (CEM), Andrés Zorrilla, expressed that entrepreneurs are tired of extortion, kidnappings and the total impunity of those behind the onslaught of organized crime.
Mayor Gustavo Torres Salinas and local lawmaker Eduardo Hernández Chavarría condemned the double murder and expressed their regrets while calling for an end to violence in the southern area of the state.
