The government of Colombia, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, identified its citizen as Mile Virginia Martin through the victim's fingerprints, she was found dead along with photojournalist Rubén Espinosa and three other women last Friday in a Mexico City apartment.
The Colombian Foreign Ministry said consular representatives immediately sent the results of these tests to the Attorney General of Mexico City (PGJDF) and requested the official report of the autopsy performed on the Colombian citizen.
The Colombian government also asked the PGJDF to expedite the investigation to establish the causes of the murder and punish those responsible for the murder of its citizen.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia regrets the death of compatriot Mile Virgina Martin and expresses its condolences to relatives and friends," the Colombian ministry said through a statement.
