The Office of the Attorney General of Mexico City announced the arrest of former police officer Abraham Torres Tranquilino for his alleged involvement in the murder of four people in Narvarte neighborhood.
The 24-year-old was arrested around 5:00 p.m. in the district of Iztapalapa.
According to Attorney General Rodolfo Ríos Garza, the face of the detainee has not been presented to media due to a request by the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City.
The authorities reported that Torres Tranquilino was arrested in 2011 for torture and sentenced to four years and eight months in prison and was released on parole on October 29.
As reported at the press conference, the first detainee in the case, Daniel Gutiérrez Pacheco, reported that he invited the former policeman to the department in the Luz Aviñón street where, on July 31, photojournalist Rubén Espinosa, Nadia Vera, Colombian Virginia Martín, activist Yesenia Quiroz and housemaid, Alejandra Negrete were killed.
