A helicopter transporting the governor of Chihuahua, César Duarte, crashed last night at around 8:50 p.m., according to reports. The governor was traveling with his wife Bertha Gómez and journalist Lolita Ayala, who suffered only minor injuries, according to the state authorities. "All members of the crew, including the pilot, are well. However, they are being evaluated by physicians in the city of Parral," expressed a statement issued by the state government. Two assistants of Ayala and a security officer in charge of guarding the Governor were also on board. They were traveling from the municipality of Moris to Duarte's ranch in Balleza, where they were supposed to spend the night. According to the report, the pilot detected a failure in the rotor and proceeded to make an emergency landing. When the ship was some 15 feet above the ground it crashed.
