The Permanent Committee of the Congress requested the Ministry of the Interior to expel Peruvian host Laura Bozzo from the country.
Through the Parliamentary Gazette the committee asked to analyze "Laura Bozzo's TV show content, in order to protect the integrity, dignity, and rights of children and adolescents." The request was made by Deputy Verónica Juárez Piña, from the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD).
The request states that "Bozzo's TV show is full of mediocrity, sensationalism, incitement to violence and falsehood, which humiliates people who participate in it and also is aired at a time when children might be watching."
The request also mentions the statements of Anticorruption Attorney of Peru, Julio Arbizu, who reported that "the television host Laura Bozzo was part of a criminal network of corruption in that country, which diverted about US$3 million."
Deputy Juárez Piña considers that the Article 33 of the Constitution could be applied, which states that "the President of Mexico shall have the power to expel from national territory any foreigner, according to the law and after a hearing. The law shall establish the administrative procedure for this purpose, as well as the place where the foreigner should be detained and the time for that. Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country."
