Mexican Foreign Minister, José Antonio Meade, ended the working visit to Germany, where he met with his counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier to create the Mexico-Germany Binational Commission that will meet on a regular basis to strengthen bilateral relations.
During his visit, the Mexican foreign minister stressed out the importance of the relations between the two countries, which, he said, go through a key moment.
"We are defining what Germany means to Mexico and what Mexico means to Germany," he said.
During the establishment of the Binational Commission, it was agreed to divide it into five sub-committees:
Political Affairs
Cooperation for Sustainable Development, Environment and Climate Change
Science, Research and Innovation
Economy, Energy, Trade, Investment and Tourism
Culture and Education
Mexico and Germany also signed a memorandum of understanding on digital infrastructure, where the cooperation and joint projects in the field of transport infrastructure, telecommunications and public works will be strengthened.
