Southampton has set its sights on the Mexican defender Héctor Moreno, who plays for the Espanyol, in case the English club cannot sign the Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld, the British press reported today.
The Daily Mirror said Moreno, 27, is understood to be available from Espanyol for around 8 million pounds (US$12.2 million).
He played at last summer's World Cup and has a total of 58 caps for his country, the newspaper added.
