The United States embassy in Mexico is hoping to reactivate the visa emissions in three weeks, after its suspension due to a problem in the whole global system.
In a press release, the embassy said that it is a priority to work in the accumulated requests in the consular section, but it will also receive new requests.
The embassy said that it expects to invest two weeks in the process, while some 800 personal interviews have been rescheduled, and after the backlog is solved, it will work to reduce to less than a week the timeframe for an interview.
"Even if summer is the most busy time of the year, we are hoping to be able to return to normal operations in three weeks," it said.
