The Secretary of Labor and Conflicts of the National Association of Actors (ANDA), Felipe Nájera, expressed that the requirements from actor Rubén Aguirre have been responded by the organization, albeit he recognized some flaws in it which have caused problems for the aging thespian.
"I admit and I am with him in his complaint that the ANDA has many disabilities and weaknesses not only in regard to the medical service, but in solving the economic problems that we are living. I do not think that steps have been really taken by the General Secretariat and the Secretariat of Social Welfare, specifically by colleagues Yolanda Ciani and Lourdes Pellegrino, to clean and sanitize the entire system," he said.
He further explained that Aguirre's hospitalization by the end of last year, and a more recent one of his wife, had the support of the organization.
He also pointed out that the ANDA can't justify denying health service to any member, such as Aguirre, a resident of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, whose health problems and lack of help from the organization have prompted him to reach to media in order to make his situation known and call for the help of the Board of Conciliation and Arbitration of the Block of Latin American Actors.
