Tornado alerts in Acuña, Coahuila were activated around 11:23 am and 20 minutes later were heard again but this time in the border town of Del Río Texas, due to strong winds and rain in both sides of the border between Mexico and the United States.
The streets of different areas and the downtown of the city are flooded, plus there are intermittent cuts in the supply of electricity and water.
Mayor Evaristo Lenin Pérez Rivera sent messages through his Twitter account, where he writes "My friends, protect yourselves in a safe place, the rain is strong, we must prevent, the most important thing is to be in a safe place, do not forget."
At 12:20 pm, rainfall accompanied by electrical activity was reported.
According to the meteorological report from the National Water Commission (Conagua) the alert for tornadoes will remain activated during this day.
